Already Have an Idea? Learn how to Apply for a Patent.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued patent number 10 million on June 19, 2018. This milestone of human ingenuity perhaps exceeds even the Founding Fathers’ expectations when they called for a patent system in the Constitution to “promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts.” There’s no better day than National Inventors’ Day to check out the Kids Section of the USPTO's website and spend some time learning how the patent system works so you’ll be ready once you have a prototype. The website also includes fun games and activities for all ages of makers, builders, and tinkerers to enjoy - from coloring pages to awesome "Build an Invention" projects where kids can recreate inventions in expired patents!
