Real Mom Review: Washington Valor Arena Football Game
By Staci Sampson, CertifiKID SubscriberPosted Jun 30, 2019
The Washington Valor are a professional arena football team based in Washington, D.C. that began playing in the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2017. They are currently the League Champs, having defeated Baltimore in 2018 in the ArenaBowl XXXI!
We sent one of our MOM Squad ambassadors and her family to experience a Washington Valor game at Capital One Arena in D.C. She received free tickets in exchange for an honest review of their experience.

My family and I actually came to D.C. for the day since the game was that night at 7 p.m. We enjoyed all the great sites, and then made our way to the arena around 5:45 p.m.
At 6 p.m., they let the fans come in to the arena where you can look at gift shops, purchase some yummy food, or watch the teams warm up.
We had seats only a few rows from the floor, which is definitely the place to be. We really enjoyed our seat location, as well as the overall event itself. Our seats allowed us to get "up-close and personal" with the players and the field play.
The team is very fan-friendly, so much so, that children can hang along the side of the stands and high five, as well as chat and gather autographs. It is definitely a great environment for families!
There is also a kid's club you can join for $10 with lots of extras and goodies, as well as a kid's $5 meal deal, which includes a drink and hot dog.
I would definitely recommend everyone checking out this new Washington team. You will feel close to the action and enjoy every second of this great sport.
Getting There and Getting In
The event takes place at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. You can either use GPS to get there, or you can take public transportation.
We parked in a parking garage that was located right next to the Capital One Arena at Gallery Place. It was $19.95 to park, and I purchased our parking prior to the event online at SpotHero. This was an ideal spot because you come up the elevator from the parking, and you have an entrance right there to the arena. You don't even have to go outside if you don't want to; you can enter and exit right there.
There is METRO available there as well. The Gallery Place-Chinatown station (Red, Yellow and Green lines) is located directly under Capital One Arena.
We had to wait a few minutes to get in because the event did not allow you to enter until an hour prior. Otherwise, we would have walked right in if it had been open.
Time Recommended to Enjoy Experience
I believe that if you came in an hour prior to the game starting, that would allow you to experience everything. The game was over around 9:30 p.m., so it lasted approximately two and a half hours.
Recommended Age Range
My son is 8. I would recommend this for children from ages 3 and up.
Tips for Families
We like to eat at the Shake Shack nearby. It offers burgers and fries, and it is so good. We ate prior to the game to save on food cost inside the arena. While inside, we just bought some snack items.
I would bring some extra cash for goodies, but other than that, you don't need much more.
Would Your Family Visit Again?
Yes, we would definitely go again.
